Hobby Lobby
Just won a bid on a Hobby Lobby. Kinda scared now. Didn't think I would get it. I have around 2000 hours in it and not enough people to do that and the rest of my shit.
I might have to get off my fat ass this summer. Pretty much an all labor type of job as they supply pretty much everything but pipe and wire.

Re: Hobby Lobby
Hobby lobby will be a shit load of lights. Get comfortable on that scissor lift. You'll be there a while! Good luck though. Sounds interesting.

Re: Hobby Lobby
Yea I have two scissors lifts now but I figure I might by one more and then keep the best two when we are done.
It is only a 3 to 4 month job so I may be getting some Summer college kids to help.

Re: Hobby Lobby
I think you need to bring in a couple of decent union guys that are on the list. They have more experience with this type of thing (retail fit-outs) and if you get some good guys they will streamline it for you.

Re: Hobby Lobby
I do have two good friends that are out of work union guys, but they aren't that smart and want to much $$$

Re: Hobby Lobby
Then find smart guys who will take care of it for you. And yes, it will cost you money.
A couple of guys who have the systems and processes down will make a huge difference.

Re: Hobby Lobby
So far I have taken 4 grand worth of scrap wire in. Not to mention pulling out thousands of feet of 4 thhn which is in perfect shape. Plus all the 500mcm I took out from the old service should work fine on the new one.
Nice little bonus.

Well, this is great news Jackwad. However the really really big news is I have invented the AC disconnecting means that you can feed from the top with a slight bit of machackery that costs only 6 bucks at home dopo (plus whatever they charged me for 3/4'' myers hubs, probably another 6 bucks for that... I gots pictures coming shortly after I drag them off my iPod and transfer them to ET and then transfer that to here , all because of the shithead way this shithole handles pictures.

Re: Hobby Lobby
I don't understand the use of a Meyers hub. Why not just install that same PVC connecter (male adapter, whatever) into the box with a sealing locknut? Silicone the connector and it's good.
What's the difference screwing the connector into the Meyers hub?
